The Lecanto Panthers extended their postseason success on Wednesday against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 50-42. The victory was just what Lecanto needed coming off of a 74-40 loss in their prior match.
Ijyana Edwards was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals and three blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Bryleigh Florio was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals and five assists.
Lecanto has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Wesley Chapel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-9.
Lecanto is on the road again on Monday and plays River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th. River Ridge will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Lecanto surely won't give up without a fight. Wesley Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
