North Augusta is 9-1 against White Knoll since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will head out to square off against the Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. North Augusta is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, North Augusta was able to grind out a solid win over Strom Thurmond, taking the game 7-4.
Lia Allen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emily Geddes, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ayla Holmes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Augusta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, while White Knoll put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mid-Carolina. The Timberwolves put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.
White Knoll also got a great performance from Lexi Burkard as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Burkard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, White Knoll let Ashlynn Blackstone and Reginae Porterfield run wild. Blackstone went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Porterfield went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Melinda Veller, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
White Knoll has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Augusta, their record now sits at 13-9.
North Augusta skirted past White Knoll 6-5 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
