The North Platte Panthers are on the road again on Friday and play against the Marionville Comets at 3:00 p.m. on December 1st. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Platte extended their postseason success on Saturday against Milan. They blew past the Wildcats 54-34. North Platte's win was all the more impressive since Milan was averaging only 17.8 points allowed on the season.
Colton Kirkham was on fire: he rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 160 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Servaes, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Marionville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past St. Vincent, posting a 38-7 win on the road. Marionville's victory was all the more impressive since St. Vincent was averaging only 16.46 points allowed on the season.
Marionville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cash Pomeroy out in front who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hugh Eaton was another key contributor, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped North Platte to 12-1 and Milan to 13-2.
