The Trinity Trojans proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 54) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone Christian and snuck past 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Trinity has posted yet this season.
De'oshianna Bennett was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Iniya Charlton, who scored ten points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Trinity and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will take on Independence at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 555th, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 260th).
