Even though the Clyde Fliers have not done well against the Norwalk Truckers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Clyde came out on top against the Truckers by a score of 52-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given Clyde's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Truckers are ranked 230th).
Clyde's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brennen Wilson led the charge by scoring 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Messer, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Clyde and bumps their season record up to 4-13. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clyde won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on February 3rd. Huron is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Norwalk, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Madison Comprehensive has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
