Stansbury has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Ridgeline Riverhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Stansbury has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 198 points over their last four matches.
Stansbury put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jordan 62-7 at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Stansbury had established a 42 point advantage.
Among those leading the charge was Coleman Dearden, who threw for 201 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes. Charles Barbiero made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Another reason for the win was Stansbury's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Jordan's QB won't forget Luke Daynes anytime soon given Daynes sacked him five times.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Ridgeline's good fortune finally ran out on October 11th. They were dealt a 59-14 loss at the hands of Orem. Ridgeline was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
Stansbury's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Murray and 1-9 Hillcrest (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 21.6% over those games). As for Ridgeline, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Stansbury and Ridgeline were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in August, but Stansbury came up empty-handed after a 28-27 defeat. Can Stansbury avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
