Baseball Recap: Alvord Wins Going Away Against Riesel

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Alvord walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Riesel Indians on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Alvord has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Riesel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11-2.

Coming up, Alvord will face off against Tom Bean on Saturday. The Tomcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Riesel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
