Hernando is 2-7 against Oxford since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hernando Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Oxford Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hernando had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged Clinton out 2-1. Hernando wouldn't have won without Arturo Tapia, who scored the game-winner.
Meanwhile, Oxford faced Madison Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Oxford skirted past Madison Central 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for Oxford who now have five in a row.
The victory made it two in a row for Hernando and bumps their season record up to 16-3-1. As for Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
