Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Vigor Wolves walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Eagles 81-44 at home. Vigor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Carroll saw an underclassman step up: N'jia Gosha almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Gosha has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Devon Pruitt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Vigor is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6-1 record this season. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8.
Vigor has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eufaula at 10:30 a.m. on February 16th. Eufaula knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 26 matches -- so hopefully Vigor likes a good challenge. Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
