The Covenant Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully The Covenant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 22 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact The Covenant proved. They enjoyed a cozy 59-44 win over Fishburne Military. The win made it back-to-back wins for The Covenant.
The Covenant found their leader in underclassman Luke Breslin, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Bachman, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Wilson Memorial pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 85-61 loss to Parry McCluer might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (56), Wilson Memorial still had to take the loss.
The Covenant now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wilson Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
