After losing to the Simla Cubs the last time they met, the Akron Rams decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Akron snuck past Simla with a 38-33 win on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Akron.
Kinsey Grauer was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. She also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Weis, who scored seven points.
Akron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Simla, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.
Akron and Fleming will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fleming is ranked 68th, while Akron is ranked 66th). As for Simla, they will head out on the road to challenge Colorado Springs School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
