The Piedmont Classical Bobcats's and the Carver Yellowjackets's match on Tuesday was close at halftime, but the Piedmont Classical Bobcats turned on the heat in the second half with 32 points. Piedmont Classical blew past Carver 52-30. The victory was familiar territory for Piedmont Classical who now have three in a row.
Leading Piedmont Classical to victory were Keniya Waring and Ge'Kayla Goins. Waring dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Goins scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Goins hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Kimari Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Carver lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Shakayla Chiles, who scored nine points.
Piedmont Classical is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Carver, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Piedmont Classical will look to defend their home court on Friday against Morehead at 6:00 p.m. Morehead is coming into the match with seven straight wins on the road, so Piedmont Classical is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Carver, they will face off against Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday.
