After three games on the road, Pen Argyl is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bangor Slaters at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Pen Argyl comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Pen Argyl took a serious blow against Notre Dame-Green Pond, falling 58-24. While losing is never fun, Pen Argyl can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while Notre Dame-Green Pond is ranked 57th).
Meanwhile, Bangor's game on Monday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Saucon Valley by a score of 44-33.
Pen Argyl bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bangor, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Things could have been worse for Pen Argyl, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-39 loss to Bangor in their previous meeting back in February. Can Pen Argyl avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
