Aycock Golden Falcons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. West Johnston came out on top against C.B. Aycock by a score of 76-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Kameron Taylor, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Caden Horay was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
C.B. Aycock's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiden Williams, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Curtis Morris, who scored 13 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for West Johnston and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for C.B. Aycock, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
West Johnston will head out on the road to challenge Hunt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Hunt's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while West Johnston has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. C.B. Aycock will take on Fike at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fike is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
