The Williamsburg Christian Academy Eagles had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Guardian Christian Academy 68-54 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Williamsburg Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Williamsburg Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Legend Bunch, who scored 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bunch has scored at least a third of Williamsburg Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Julian LaPastora, who scored 15 points.
Tierre Brown and Aaron Kuhn certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Brown dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Kuhn dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carl Walls, who scored ten points.
Williamsburg Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. As for Guardian Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Williamsburg Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stuart Hall at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Stuart Hall is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Guardian Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on The Carmel School at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Carmel School presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Guardian Christian Academy in Virginia (The Carmel School is ranked 132nd, while Guardian Christian Academy is ranked 378th).
