After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kingsway, the Clearview Pioneers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 win over Penns Grove. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Clearview has posted yet this season.
Despite the loss, Penns Grove still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Ballard, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ballard has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Giomar Conrad, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Clearview is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Penns Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will take on Timber Creek Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Penns Grove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Glassboro at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
