It was a good run, but the Northwestern Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 52-40 to Lancaster. Northwestern has not had much luck with Lancaster recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from Mason Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.
Northwestern bumped their record down to 9-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lancaster, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will face off against Indian Land at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Land is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Lancaster, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pointe at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. South Pointe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Lancaster is ranked 21st).
