The Argonia/Attica Titans were the 60-40 winner over the Oxford Wildcats when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Argonia/Attica fell to Oxford 34-28. Argonia/Attica has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Argonia/Attica lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Dalton Morrison. Despite the final result, he rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Carson Vineyard also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oxford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cordell Jordan, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Johnathan Schroeder was another key contributor, rushing for 55 yards and two touchdowns.
Argonia/Attica's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Oxford, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Argonia/Attica will challenge Moundridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moundridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 420 points over their last eight matchups. As for Oxford, they will head out on the road to face off against Little River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Little River is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
