For the second straight game, Depew will face off against Lake Shore. The Wildcats will face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Depew has three straight victories, Lake Shore has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Depew made easy work of Lake Shore and carried off a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Daniel Reese made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Jacob Scibetta and Justin Refermat did most of the damage at the plate: Scibetta went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Refermat went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Refermat is becoming a predictor of Depew's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joseph Manna, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Depew always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Shore only posted an OBP of .217.
Depew's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Lake Shore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Lake Shore's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Depew hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Lake Shore, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Depew's hitters?
