The Haines City Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberty 70-10 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Haines City has managed all season.
Leading Haines City to victory were Zebrelle Canaday and Arissa Jenkins. Canaday scored 21 points, while Jenkins scored 25 points. The matchup was Jenkins' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amari Thomas, who scored ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, one person who can't be blamed is India Smith. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Rodriguez, who scored six points.
Haines City's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Liberty, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haines City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lake Wales at 8:00 p.m. on January 4th. Lake Wales is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Poinciana at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poinciana is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
