Ravenscroft has gone 8-2 against St. David recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Ravenscroft Ravens are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the St. David's Warriors at 4:15 p.m. Ravenscroft is looking for their season's first win.
Ravenscroft fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Charlotte Latin on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 13-12. Even if the Ravens couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Matt Ulicny was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
In other batting news, Ravenscroft got a big performance out of Matthew Madewell, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Madewell a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Hutter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday St. David's sidestepped Trinity Academy for a 4-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.
Like Ravenscroft, St. David's also got a great game from a two-way player: Grey McMahon. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over 4.1 innings pitched. McMahon was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Smith Goracke, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Adkins Allen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Ravenscroft's record now sits at 0-4. As for St. David's, their record now sits at 2-0.
Ravenscroft took their win against St. David's when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ravenscroft since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
