Wheelersburg moved up to 82 from 118 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southern Ohio II. The Pirates were able to move up by beating Martins Ferry 45-0.
Wheelersburg took down the Purple Riders 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Eddie Miller III threw for 249 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 110 yards in the win.
Wheelersburg's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Miller III has thrown for 2,636 yards and 30 touchdowns this season, while Dylan Miller has 79 catches for 1,140 yards. Miller III also leads the league in rushing with 1,200 yards.
Rob Woodward's team's Tyler Claxon needs only 56 receiving yards against Bishop Hartley to crack 1,000 for the season. He has recorded 64 catches for 944 yards this year.
The Pirates made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,217 from 1,812. The improvement was largely due to a 45-0 victory over Martins Ferry last week.
