Richmond City School of the Arts was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-4.
Despite the loss, Richmond City School of the Arts saw an underclassman step up: Laylianah McBrayer scored 11 points. That was a full 73.3% of Richmond City School of the Arts' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Cosby was led to victory by Kennedy Whitaker and Miah Carter. Whitaker scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Carter scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eryn Lily, who scored 11 points.
Richmond City School of the Arts' loss was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Cosby, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Richmond City School of the Arts will be playing in front of their home fans against Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richmond City School of the Arts comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 18 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Cosby, they and Clover Hill will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Clover Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
