Last Thursday, Hampton came up short against Fox Chapel and fell 50-42. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hampton came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Fox Chapel is ranked 311th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Altoona, who are still winless after their sixth game. Their rough 68-48 defeat to Central Dauphin on Tuesday might stick with them for a while.
Hampton's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Altoona, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
