This season hasn't been kind to the Campbell-Savona Panthers, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They fell to Alfred-Almond 49-43. Campbell-Savona was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Alfred-Almond apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.
When it comes to explaining why Campbell-Savona lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Soles. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Soles grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Kibler, who scored 13 points along with six assists.
Even though they lost, Campbell-Savona were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Campbell-Savona's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Alfred-Almond, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Campbell-Savona will be home for the holidays to greet Addison at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Addison will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Alfred-Almond, they will head out on the road to face off against Canisteo-Greenwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Canisteo-Greenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Alfred-Almond likes a good challenge.
