The Lake Country Christian Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 28-21 to Brazos Christian.
Gannon Mcelroy and Elijah Sherman certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Mcelroy threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns, while Sherman picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Sherman was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 64 yards.
Brazos Christian was led to victory by Chance Locker and Cooper Murr. Locker picked up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Murr threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Brazos Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 12.5 sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Lake Country Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Brazos Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Lake Country Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Grace Prep at 7:30 p.m. Brazos Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Rosehill Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Rosehill Christian is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
