The Paxton Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Wauneta-Palisade at home to the tune of 75-38. Paxton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Paxton found their leader in underclassman Maddex McConnell, who scored 18 points along with three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McConnell has scored all season. Josh Eakins was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Paxton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Paxton will take on Maxwell at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Wauneta-Palisade will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Medicine Valley on February 1st.
