The Reidsville Rams will head out to take on the Forbush Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Reidsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Reidsville easily dispatched T.W. Andrews last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Rams fell just short of McMichael by a score of 7-5 last Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered against the Phoenix since March 21, 2023.
Reidsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Gengler, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Forbush waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Greyhounds. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted against the Greyhounds since March 31, 2023.
Konner Sizemore looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Forbush let Dylan McClamrock and Aaron Hutchens run wild. McClamrock went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Hutchens got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That triple was McClamrock's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Moxley, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.
Forbush always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.
Forbush's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Reidsville, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Reidsville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Forbush struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
