Danbury made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from sixth to second place in 2A Region IV District 26 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile,
Boling fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to fourth place after going 0-1 in the past week. East Bernard (8-1, 1-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.
The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Ryan Almanza, who hit .556 this week (5-for-9).
The week's strikeout crown belonged to
Colbey Calk, who turned in 11 Ks for
Van Vleck. With 15 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.
Calk was an RBI machine on Friday, as he knocked in four runs during the Leopards' 13-11 win over
Rice Consolidated. He went 2-for-5 and scored two runs.
