Baseball Game Preview: Pine-Richland Rams vs. Bethel Park Black Hawks

The Pine-Richland Rams will square off against the Bethel Park Black Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Pine-Richland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Greater Latrobe 8-7. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Mengine, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Ben Husted was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bethel Park waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Jaguars.

Pine-Richland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bethel Park, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.

Pine-Richland took their win against Bethel Park in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
