Taconic Hills came out on top against Cairo-Durham on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Titans blew past the Mustangs 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Tristan Super was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Taconic Hills is undefeated when Super posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Francis Conners-Schmid was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Tyler Mulrein was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Taconic Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cairo-Durham only managed five hits.
Taconic Hills pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Cairo-Durham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
