Basketball Recap: Briauna Richardson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hernando Christian Academy over Academy at the Lakes

It was a proper cat-fight when Hernando Christian Academy duked it out withAcademy at the Lakes on Friday. The Hernando Christian Academy Lions lost 52-28 to the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats. The Lions have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Hernando Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Briauna Richardson, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Kensington Claus was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Academy at the Lakes found their leader in sophomore Aria Sneary-Beachy, who scored 15 points. Rory Fitzgerald also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
