The Navajo Prep Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Silver Fighting Colts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silver took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Navajo Prep, who comes in off a win.
Navajo Prep gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past Kirtland Central, posting a 69-32 victory at home.
Navajo Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Nez out in front who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. Jude Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Silver was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 44-39 to Las Cruces. Silver has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Navajo Prep's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Silver, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Navajo Prep against Silver when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 64-37 victory. Will Navajo Prep repeat their success, or does Silver have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
