Biloxi extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping them up to 6-1. They came out on top against the Laurel Golden Tornadoes by a score of 44-36. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly eight points.

Zaniya Johnson produced another solid performance almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Carriere, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Laurel fell to 5-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Laurel's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracelyn Carmichael, who earned 12 points. Carmichael is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kayllis Walker was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.

Looking ahead, Biloxi will challenge Booker T. Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laurel, they will face off against Northeast Jones at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
