Kennedy is 8-0 against Van Nuys since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kennedy Cougars will be playing at home against the Van Nuys Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Kennedy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Kennedy put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Panorama 55-20 at home.
Kennedy found their leader in underclassman Diego Montes, who rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Fuentes-gutierrez, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Van Nuys lost to Sylmar at home by a decisive 47-28 margin on Thursday.
Despite the defeat, Van Nuys had strong showings from Marlon Figueroa, who gained 106 total yards and two touchdowns, and Carlos Herrera, who threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes.
Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Van Nuys, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Van Nuys when the teams last played back in September of 2022 as the team secured a 52-8 victory. Does Kennedy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Van Nuys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
