It was a good run, but the Zephyrhills Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Springstead. Zephyrhills was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.
It was another big night for Nick Cordero, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Springstead. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sayre, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Springstead, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Zephyrhills will take on the Royal Knights at TBD on Tuesday. River Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 305th). As for Springstead, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Mitchell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 317 points over their last four matches.
