Landstown is 10-0 against Tallwood since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Landstown Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Tallwood Lions at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Landstown suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Princess Anne at home and fell 79-9. While losing is never fun, Landstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Princess Anne is ranked 14th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tallwood, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were dealt a 61-10 defeat at the hands of Bayside on Friday. Tallwood has struggled against Bayside recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Landstown's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Tallwood, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-12.
Everything came up roses for Landstown against Tallwood when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 60-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Landstown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
