Central Florida Christian Academy is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Colonial. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Grenadiers are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, Ocoee had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-47 win over the Hawks.

Central Florida Christian Academy better focus on containing Dakara Merthie and Kylie Holden as the pair were huge in Ocoee's win. Merthie went 8 for 17 on her way to 23 points and five steals, while Holden dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Holden a new career-high in points. Jayla Weiser was another key player, putting up seven points and six assists.

Ocoee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Ocoee pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Everything came up roses for Central Florida Christian Academy against Ocoee in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 47-18 win.
