New Smyrna Beach's loss came despite strong showings from Sariah Ammons and Corrin Austell. Ammons scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Austell scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ammons scored 15 or more points.
New Smyrna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Spruce Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
New Smyrna Beach will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Celebration at 6:00 p.m. Spruce Creek on the road again on Friday and play against Mainland at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Mainland is ranked 39th, while Spruce Creek is ranked 38th).
