The Providence Prep Rams came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by Methodist Children's Home 35-34. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Providence Prep has scored all year.
Despite the loss, Methodist Children's Home saw an underclassman step up: Londen Bickham scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Bickham has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Elijah Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Providence Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Methodist Children's Home, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Prep will take on St. Mary's at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Methodist Children's Home, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago.
