Serena was not the first on the board  on Saturday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders with a sharp  13-2 win. Considering the Huskers have won ten games by more than nine  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Cassie Walsh was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   six  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Serena got a  massive  performance out of  RayElle Brennan, who  went 2-for-5 with four  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  run. That's the most  doubles  Brennan has posted  over her last 11  contests. Another player making a difference was  Finley Brodbeck, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 Serena  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashton-Franklin Center struck out 11 times.
The  victory made it two in a row for Serena and  bumps their season record up to 14-6. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ashton-Franklin Center,  they are  on  a  14-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-23.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serena will square off against Somonauk at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Huskers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8  runs per game this season. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they will challenge Morrison at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
