The Rosamond Roadrunners pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-62 defeat to Hillcrest Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (61), Rosamond still had to take the loss.
Rosamond lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Arredondo, who scored 18 points. Fabian Robles was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Rosamond now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hillcrest Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Rosamond is on the road again on Saturday and play against Palmdale at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. Palmdale is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Beacon Hill at 5:30 p.m.
