The Stringer Red Devils lost against the Leake County Gators last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Stringer was dealt a 55-18 loss at the hands of the Gators. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stringer in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost nine in a row.
Kaitlyn Chapman was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten assists for Leake County. It was the first time this season that Chapman posted eight or more assists. Daishone Turner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Stringer dropped their record down to 6-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Leake County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12.
Stringer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Leake County and the Tartars will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Taylorsville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
