After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grundy County, the Sequatchie County Indians were happy to have found some success on Monday. They secured a 45-39 W over Sale Creek. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sequatchie County also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Sequatchie County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryker Terry out in front who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Terry has scored at least 25% of Sequatchie County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamonte Kelly, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bennett Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Wilson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Moore, who scored 9 points along with 7 assists.
The win got Sequatchie County back to even at 3-3. As for Sale Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequatchie County will take on Boyd Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sale Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Rockwood at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwood is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.5 points per game.
