Make it eight blowout wins for the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets this season. They claimed a resounding 74-13 win over Fairmont Heights at home. The victory was familiar territory for Gwynn Park who now have six in a row.
Gwynn Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anaiya Morrison led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morrison has scored all season. Keira Mason was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fairmont Heights struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Gwynn Park racked up 24 assists.
Gwynn Park's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points per game. As for Fairmont Heights, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, Gwynn Park and Fairmont Heights will both be playing Potomac the next time they take the court. Fairmont Heights will host Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Gwynn Park will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
