The Bluffton Bobcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bluffton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70 points per game this season.
While Bluffton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging an 88-53 victory over Branchville. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.
Bluffton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harrison Skinner led the charge by shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 assists. Jamari Manning was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals.
Skinner wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bluffton was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Hampton County and fell 75-43. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Hampton County is ranked 83rd).
Bluffton will have to contain Jordan Sanders as he made an impact in Ridgeland's last game. He posted six points.
Bluffton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Ridgeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bluffton hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 70 points per game. It's a different story for Ridgeland, though, as they've been averaging only 37 points. The only thing between Bluffton and another offensive beatdown is Ridgeland. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Bluffton against Ridgeland in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 91-40 victory. In that match, Bluffton amassed a halftime lead of 55-18, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
