Kennedy is 0-10 against Wolcott since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. Kennedy will head out on the road to challenge Wolcott at 6:00 p.m. Kennedy has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Kennedy and Holy Cross meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Friday. The Eagles lost 17-1 to the Crusaders.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Wolcott made sure to put some runs up on the board against Crosby on Friday. The Eagles never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Avery Malenfant tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Spina, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Keeley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Wolcott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Wolcott is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Kennedy might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Wolcott in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
