Cape Hatteras' win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby O'Neal, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. O'Neal is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylie Philips, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Ocracoke saw an underclassman step up: Heidy Lora scored six points.
Cape Hatteras' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Ocracoke, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Hatteras will face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Ocracoke, they will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
