The Midland Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Eastwood Troopers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Midland has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Eastwood will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Midland ended up a good deal behind Permian and lost 43-25.
Meanwhile, Eastwood put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Eastlake as Eastwood made off with a 48-22 win. Given Eastwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Eastlake is ranked 812th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Amaya Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Itzel Caro, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Midland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season. As for Eastwood, they pushed their record up to 25-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
