Softball Recap: Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

It was a Battle of the Birds when Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts duked it out with Grace Baptist Academy on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

LILY THOMPSON made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. THOMPSON was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

THOMPSON wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was EMERY HENDERSON, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was MOLLY BILLINGTON, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Sale Creek on the 14th. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they will take on Silverdale Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Seahawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
